It occurred to me this evening that the car company with the most fuel efficient car available (no, not doing MPGe) also has one of the least fuel efficient cars available.
56 combined mpg
15 mpg combined
Im trying to think of a car company (no, not all brands under one parent company) that has a wider spread. prove me wrong.

Ford, maybe? I mean, the Focus Electric doesn’t use gas, and then they have a line of pickup trucks, along with the GT350 (which gets around 14 miles per gallon).

God I want a Land Cruiser. Hopefully it’ll happen within the next few months.

Excluding the Focus electric, there’s the Fiesta with the 3-cyl that gets good mileage.
Another potential winner is Nissan with the Micra and the Armada.

Toyota does kind of suck at getting mileage out of their big trucks, don’t they?

Thats pretty amazing, but neither of these exist today. Still pretty freaking amazing.

That reminds me that Chevy made the most aerodynamic vehicle and then a few years later sold the least. Like fuck lessons learned.

That raises an interesting question, I wonder if they intentionally overfuel a bit to keep cylinder temps down in the name of longevity. I’ve hypermiled a 4.7 2wd Tundra with a shell and only managed 16mpg, and a 4.8 Chevy LS will smoke it and get 21 highway, but I’ve seen the 2UZ surpass 300k without breaking a sweat.

If we are not comparing aples with apples then under one brand roof you could probably go with...
M-B A class (58 mpg)
M-B Actros (9 mpg)
